The recent OR Today webinar “Is it Really Clean? ATP Contamination Monitoring” broke records with the most registrations this year. The webinar had 697 individual register for the session and had the most live attendees for a webinar this year.

The webinar presenter was Robert B. Dybec, BSN, RN, MS, CNOR, OR nurse manager at NYU Long Island Hospital in New York. He is also a consultant to Ruhof. During his presentation, he explained the history of ATP contamination monitoring in terms of its application to reducing healthcare-acquired infections. He compared ATP monitoring technology to other available methods of evaluating the effectiveness of environmental and medical device cleaning. Dybec also described how ATP contamination monitoring can help standardize cleaning practices in the health care setting.
