Pure Processing Presents Pre-Cleaning Optimizers at IAHCSMM

Pure Processing LLC, developer and provider of pre-cleaning systems and accessories for reusable medical devices and reprocessing departments, will exhibit assistive technologies for technicians during the IAHCSMM Conference & Expo, April 29 to May 2, 2018. In Booth #207 at the Phoenix Convention Center, visitors will have hands-on opportunities with a host of ergonomic tools, stations and technology that can help make their work easier, faster and safer than typical manual processes, and can provide greater consistency and reprocessing compliance.

“The 2018 ECRI Institute’s Top Ten Patient Safety Concerns List includes inadequately cleaned devices as a major risk, as it has for nine years,” stated Dan Gusanders, president of Pure Processing. “This means that reprocessing professionals continue to need effective, practical help to achieve cleaning consistency and compliance. To that end, we continue developing and offering highly useful assistive tools for the critical reusable device pre-cleaning function, and we look forward to sharing some of them with IAHCSMM attendees.”

Pure Processing is also supporting technicians who have been notified by FDA that some of the automated cleaning equipment they have been using is not allowed for specific devices such as robotic instruments and accessories until it is tested and validated for specific use with these instruments. As a result, some reprocessing protocols will require additional manual steps, including an additional 30-minute soak, for these devices, which imposes the risk of process inconsistency.

Pure Processing technologies focus on facilitating and optimizing key pre-cleaning steps and parameters, including: pre-soaking, internal and external lumen and device inspection, and internal and external lumen flushing and rinsing. Their tools and accessories also improve ergonomics for technicians to help reduce the risk of repetitive motion, deep bending and prolonged standing injuries. Examples include:

  • PureSteel Mobile Soaking Station
  • PureClear Inspection Scopes
  • PureClear Visualization Station
  • PureSteel Three-Bay Healthcare Reprocessing Sink
  • PureStation Sink Insert
  • FlexiPump Independent Flushing System
