Gary Fischman Honored by ASTM International Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices Committee

Gary Fischman, principal and owner of Future Strategy Solutions and chief technology officer of Covalent Coating Technologies, East Hartford, CT, USA, was honored with the Patrick G. Laing Award by ASTM International’s medical and surgical materials and devices committee (F04).

An ASTM International member since 1987, Fischman was honored for significant and outstanding contributions in the field of medical and surgical devices.

Fischman formed Future Strategy Solutions in 2010 and has simultaneously served as the chief technology officer for Covalent Coating Technologies since its formation in 2011. He has previously held positions with National Academies, UIC, the US Food and Drug Administration, and the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. in ceramic engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

In addition to ASTM International, Fischman is a fellow and member of the American Ceramic Society and a member of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering.
