Registration is open for Periop ConneCT 2026, a regional conference designed for perioperative nurses, surgical technologists and sterile processing professionals throughout Connecticut and the Northeast. The conference will take place Oct. 16-17 at the Conference Center at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut.
Hosted by OR Today in partnership with AORN Connecticut Chapter 0701, the event will feature CE-accredited education, networking opportunities, vendor exhibits and leadership development sessions focused on advancing perioperative practice. Organizers say the conference is intended to provide attendees with the latest clinical knowledge while also fostering collaboration among perioperative teams.
Conference programming will include sessions on perioperative innovation, minimally invasive surgery, pain management strategies, workplace violence prevention, implicit bias awareness and career development. Educational presentations and keynote sessions are scheduled throughout the two-day event, alongside exhibit hall receptions and networking opportunities with industry vendors and peers.
According to the conference website, the event’s goals include advancing clinical excellence, promoting leadership development and strengthening professional connections among perioperative professionals across the Northeast.
Registration includes meals, exhibit hall access and continuing education opportunities. Organizers are also offering a limited number of scholarships for complimentary admission to attendees experiencing financial hardship. Students are eligible for discounted registration pricing.
The conference builds on the momentum of last year’s successful gathering in New Haven, Connecticut, where attendees praised the event’s educational value and collaborative atmosphere. More than 100 attendees and over 30 vendors participated in the 2025 conference.
“We had a great time presenting at the Periop ConneCT Conference. The audience had great questions, and everyone was enthusiastic with the exercises. We would come back any time,” said Alex Papanastassiou, DPT Clinic Director, Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy.
“I really enjoyed being part of the conference. It was nice to connect, learn and share with so many passionate perioperative professionals,” said Karrie Kernen, MS-HPE, BSN, RN, CNOR, with Baptist Health.
Additional conference highlights include poster presentations, exhibitor showcases and networking receptions intended to encourage idea sharing and collaboration among perioperative professionals. Organizers noted that the conference continues to grow as a regional hub for continuing education and professional engagement within the perioperative community.
