Cleveland Clinic Offers Elective Surgeries on Saturdays

Patients are now able to schedule certain elective surgeries and procedures at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus on Saturdays. Surgeries and procedures, including some robotic procedures, will be offered in urology, plastic surgery, head and neck, orthopedics, and spine initially, with additional specialties potentially being added in the future.

In 2025, Cleveland Clinic announced it would extend its hours for outpatient specialty appointments as well as elective surgeries and procedures to include most evenings and Saturdays at many Northeast Ohio regional locations.

“The feedback we have received from patients so far is extremely positive,” said Scott Steele, M.D., President of the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus Submarket. “Patients appreciate having more options for care at times that work for them. We are pleased to now be able to offer surgical and procedural care on Saturdays at our Main Campus as well.”

Since the addition of Saturday surgery and procedure hours in July, Cleveland Clinic has been able to perform nearly 700 surgeries and procedures over the weekends across four locations, with more operations being added each month. Locations include Lutheran Hospital, Avon Hospital, Beachwood Ambulatory Surgery Center, and Twinsburg Ambulatory Surgery Center. Endoscopies have made up the highest volume of Saturday procedures.

Cleveland Clinic also offers evening and weekend locations for outpatient specialty appointments at dozens of locations in Northeast Ohio, many of which were added in 2025. From July through November, more than 12,800 specialty appointment slots were added. Many primary care adult and pediatric providers were already providing care during evenings and weekends throughout our health system.

“We are committed to making our care easier to access, and extending hours is one way we are acting on feedback provided by our patients,” said James Gutierrez, M.D., Chief of Cleveland Clinic’s Primary Care Institute. “We are proud to be able to care for patients at times that align with their needs, ensuring they receive timely attention and helping to prevent delays that could lead to more serious health outcomes.”

These new options add to the ways in which patients can access Cleveland Clinic care. Cleveland Clinic offers in-person and virtual visits as well as walk-in urgent, express and emergency care seven days a week.
