Centura St. Anthony, SAMGI Collaborate on Trauma/Acute-Care Surgery Program

Industry-leading surgicalist program provider, SAMGI (Surgical Affiliates Management Group, Inc.), and Centura St. Anthony Hospital, Lakewood CO, announced an agreement to create a trauma and acute care surgicalist program at that facility. SAMGI’s unique surgicalist model is built around board-certified trauma and acute care surgical teams that deliver 24/7/365 always on-duty emergency surgical care, as well as fully staffed follow-up clinics for post-discharge patient care.

“Our goal is to not only meet the needs of our facility and our medical staff, but most important, meet the needs of the entirety of our community’s surgical patients,” said Centura St. Anthony CEO, Kevin Jackson. “We chose SAMGI not only because of their deep, proven and qualified reputation and experience in trauma and acute care surgery services, but also because of their ability to scale their services to meet our growing needs.”

“The already high stress emergency department is not immune to being hit by today’s physician shortage. More and more healthcare facilities have been looking to us to provide always-on-duty emergency surgical coverage,” said SAMGI President and CEO Lynette A. Scherer, MD, FACS. “We’re excited to add Centura St. Anthony to our growing list of partner hospitals and seamlessly integrate our surgicalist team into their organization to ensure that they meet their community’s critical service requirements.”
