Attendees will understand the history of nursing informatics as a specialty, the knowledge base necessary to obtain certification and pathways to career development as a perioperative informatics specialist. Jessica Gruendler has 40 years experience in perioperative services focused on optimizing departments to achieve clinical, operational and financial goals while facilitating technology adoption. She currently serves as an empiricist vice president for Empiric Health. She has served as director of quality, risk management, and patient safety, director of surgical services, with 10 years in nursing informatics and 20 years in various staff and management positions in surgical services.
