As 2025 approaches, it’s hard to believe how much we’ve accomplished this past year at CCI. We’re closing out 2024 – our 45th anniversary year – with a sense of pride, gratitude and excitement for the future. This year has been one of growth, innovation and enhanced connections with our certificants. Here are some of the highlights:
Specialty CNOR Designations:
We are excited to have expanded our CNOR Certification Program this year by introducing six specialty designations – Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Surgical Obstetrics, Robotics, Bariatric and Cardiac. These new certifications were designed to recognize the unique expertise within these specialties. Learn more about them on our website here.
New Educational Offerings:
Our educational resources also saw significant growth in 2024! All CCI books are now available on Amazon, making it even more convenient to access these key resources. You can find them directly on Amazon or through our store. Additionally, we introduced new nursing professional development courses, available in our online store. These courses are designed to support our certificants in meeting their continuing education requirements throughout the year.
New Certification Support Resources:
Certification transforms perioperative nursing practice and patient care. To help nurses and health care facilities champion this vital credential, CCI offers strategic resources that build compelling cases for certification programs. Our evidence-based toolkits – including “How To Justify Certification” and “Empower Your Nurses Through Certification” – demonstrate certification’s measurable impact on patient safety, clinical outcomes and organizational excellence.
For facilities pursuing or maintaining Magnet recognition, we’ve developed a comprehensive guide detailing our four Magnet-qualified certifications. Combined with our facility purchasing programs and certification expertise, these resources empower organizations to cultivate nursing excellence and foster environments where continuous professional growth thrives.
Website Redesign:
One of our most significant improvements in 2024 was the redesign of the CCI website. The new layout offers improved navigation, making it easier for users to access candidate handbooks and essential information about our certifications. We’ve also added a dedicated “News” tab, providing a centralized location for blogs and social media updates. This ensures that all our certificants, regardless of their social media usage, can stay informed about the latest developments at CCI.

Join us in April 2025 at the AORN Expo in Boston, MA! As always, we are proud to maintain a collaborative partnership with AORN and the AORN Foundation. We’ll be exhibiting at the Expo, and we’ve prepared some exclusive swag for our certificants – don’t miss out on visiting us!
Daisy Award Recognition:
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be awarding another DAISY Award at the 2025 Expo! This prestigious award celebrates perioperative nurses who go above and beyond in their volunteerism with CCI. If you haven’t nominated a colleague who exemplifies leadership and dedication, now’s the time – nominations close at the end of December 2024.
Celebrating Our Incredible Volunteers:
None of CCI’s achievements would be possible without the extraordinary efforts of our volunteers. We had an incredible year of volunteerism, and we want to give a special shoutout to all our amazing volunteers. Our Excellence in Volunteerism Award winners will be announced soon.
