Medline’s SilvaSorb is intended for lightly draining wounds in need of an antimicrobial barrier. The gel provides continuous antimicrobial protection, does not stain, is gentle on patient skin and offers advanced fluid management and extended wear time, according to Medline’s company research. The gel is indicated for the management of pressure ulcers, partial and full-thickness wounds, leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, graft wounds and donor sites, skin tears, surgical wounds and second-degree burns. Sheets can be left in place for up to seven days, while the amorphous gel can be left in place for up to three days.
