RF Assure

The RF Assure Detection System includes a detection wand, table mat and console. The automatic detection mat is placed under the surgical table cover to allow for hands-free patient scanning. The detection mat offers a touchscreen color display, a new patient data recording module and processor. The detection mat can perform a complete mat scan in 15 seconds without disrupting the surgical field, mitigating the risk of a retained sponge even during high-pressure trauma cases. The system also includes a wand to increase detection coverage, which is helpful during high-BMI and cardiac cases, the company says. RF Detection Technology uses low frequency (145Khz) passive tags, which are known to perform well in fluids and near metals. RF Detect tags do not require programming.
