MechTech Innovator has selected Purgo Scientific, a medical device company out of South Jordan, Utah, as one of the top 61 startups (out of 1,150 applicants) by the MedTech Innovator.
Purgo Scientific proved to be a groundbreaker with the invention of the Purgo Pouch, a sustainable, localized drug delivery device combatting the biofilm infection crisis plaguing orthopedic surgery.
Dustin Williams, Ph.D, says, “I’ve dedicated my career to studying biofilm infections. I believe Purgo Pouch will have the biggest impact on reducing surgical site infections of any innovation in the last 40 years.”
