MD Technologies Inc. supplies three Environ-mate DM6000 Series Suction-Drain System Unit models for surgery, endoscopy and central sterile processing. The DM6000 unit with footswitch is specifically designed to support sterile processing operations. The footswitch permits hands-free health care worker operation. In sterile processing, the DM6000 unit collects fluids suctioned through an instrument being cleaned and disposes of the fluid directly down the drain to sanitary sewer. Other systems flush fluid through endoscopes, catheters and other instruments, but generally the dirty fluid is directed through the instrument, back into the reprocessing sink.
