Every year, CMS cuts Medicare payments by 1% for hospitals in the bottom quartile of its Hospital-Acquired Condition Reduction Program. In 2025, 724 hospitals lost a combined $186 million. CMS also won’t pay extra for preventable complications, including surgical site infections (SSIs) and pressure injuries. While most hospitals have prevention bundles, consistent execution across shifts and sites remains challenging, especially when clinicians rarely see their own performance.
Hospitals use order sets, EHR alerts, dashboards, and competency training to promote consistency. Yet alert fatigue and delayed, department-level reporting leave clinicians unaware of practice gaps and quality leaders unable to link interventions to outcomes.
Our panelists will explore how care consistency solutions close these gaps through accessible, shared guidance and personalized performance feedback with targeted, AI-driven interventions to improve perioperative quality measures. The goal: consistent care across every case and sustained quality gains.
We’ll also share how customers use C8 Health to improve perioperative quality measures, including direct SSI risk factors. Attendees will leave with a practical model for turning best practices into everyday practice in their ORs.
Key Takeaways
– Why department-level dashboards rarely change individual practice, and what clinicians need instead to adjust how they work case by case
– How to keep bundle performance from sliding back once a quality initiative wraps up, the point where most improvement efforts stall
– How to tie a specific intervention to a measurable change in outcomes and operational costs, so the case for funding quality work holds up with finance and the C-suite
– How UTMB achieved a 3.8x faster rate of quality improvement using C8 Health
