This 60-minute webinar will feature Jim Stobinski, CEO of the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI). American healthcare is changing rapidly through the ongoing transition to a value based system of care. Processes for ongoing professional development for American healthcare workers are also in the midst of large-scale change. In this presentation Jim will discuss the factors causing the changes in professional development practices and discuss the relevant organizations engaged in these changes. The evolving role of the registered nurse as the supervisor of unlicensed staff in the perioperative setting will also be discussed.

About the Presenter: Jim Stobinski PhD, RN, CNOR, CSSM (E) has in excess of 30 years’ experience in the operating room, his education includes a Diploma of Nursing from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing and a BSN and MSN from East Carolina University. He earned his PhD in International Health Research from Touro University International in June of 2011 for a study of competency and skill acquisition in perioperative nurses. He has 18 years of management experience in perioperative nursing and has published and presented extensively at the national level on perioperative management related topics. Since 2011 he has been employed at the Competency and Credentialing Institute in Denver, Colorado. He also serves as adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University in Ft Lauderdale Florida and Wilkes University in Pennsylvania. In February 2017 he began serving as the CEO of the Competency and Credentialing Institute. He maintains an active research agenda centered on nursing workforce issues and certification.
