The 75 minute webinar will feature Darrel Hicks, author of Infection Prevention for Dummies. Darrel is a Registered Executive Housekeeper (REH) and has 3 years of managing the housekeeping services in hospitals ranging from 120-650 beds.
Darrel’s presentation will define the potential problem/risk of improperly cleaned environmental surfaces; Describe 4 Checklists that build in accountability and identify responsibilities for cleaning equipment and surfaces; Explore the Competency Assessment; Briefly describe the “Observation” checklist; Finally, present the Hygiene Specialist Certificate of training. By using the AORN recommended “Checklists” for the cleaning of the OR, listeners will have a greater appreciation for cleaning’s role in preventing surgical wound infections.
