EA Health and Synergy Surgicalists Announce Business Merger

Synergy Surgicalists – one of the nation’s top providers of orthopedic and general surgicalist staffing for hospitals – and EA Health – a leading provider of physician staffing services and specialty physician on-call compensation solutions – have announced a business merger (EA-Synergy). Enhanced Healthcare Partners will serve as the capital partner for the company to support further growth. The merger positions the company to offer hospital staffing and management across multiple service lines including emergency medicine, orthopedics, general surgery and specialty physician on-call services.

The new combined company can now offer high-performing, integrated solutions to hospitals.

“There exists a tremendous opportunity for innovation in managing the complexities of today’s emergency departments,” said Bill Sanger, chairman EA Health. “Our company will leverage significant leadership experience, analytics and a physician-first culture to drive results for our hospital clients.”

The business merger combines Synergy Surgicalist’s expertise and market share in the expanding surgicalist space with EA Health’s advanced data, analytic and recruiting capabilities to improve patient care. EA-Synergy is well-positioned to provide hospitals a fully integrated emergency medicine management platform to support:

  • Emergency department staffing and management
  • General surgery and orthopedic surgicalist staffing and management
  • On-call compensation solutions

The combined company brings together executives with deep industry experience in operational, financial and clinical leadership.

Both EA Health and Synergy Surgicalists were founded by physicians and are built on a tradition of fairness and transparency with physician groups. This physician-first culture results in hospital-based physicians working collaboratively with community physicians to focus on quality patient care and performance improvement for the hospital.

“We have taken the deep experience of our team and applied best practices to empower physicians with data to elevate outcomes for the group as a whole. Hospitals thrive when their top service lines are staffed with an integrated team of physicians, who are focused on patient care and aligned with the goals of the hospital,” said Sriram Iyer, chief executive officer.

The integration of the two companies is effective immediately.
