Stryker has officially introduced the Tornier shoulder arthroplasty portfolio and launched its first new Tornier product, the Perform Humeral Stem.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revised and reissued the NIOSH-approved Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) so the scope of the products authorized under that EUA is in alignment with the actions taken on June 30, 2021, as well as FDA’s related announcements of April 9 and May 27.

Caresyntax, an enterprise-level digital surgery platform, has hired Rhonda Wallen as chief strategy officer and executive vice president of technology & evidence solutions to lead Caresyntax’s business development with medical device companies and develop new lines of business for other growing customer segments. Caresyntax also announced that it has joined AdvaMed.

RTI Surgical, a surgical implant company, has entered in a long-term strategic agreement with medical device manufacturer Exactech, related to the development and supply of biologic bone substitutes.

Olympus announced that it supports the updated safety recommendations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which include new recommendations regarding bronchoscope reprocessing and the use of single-use bronchoscopes when appropriate.

Florida State University Provost Sally McRorie has announced Jing Wang as the new dean of the College of Nursing. She will start the role Aug. 16, 2021.
