Healthcare service leader will guide the veteran-owned company’s next phase of growth, with a focus on simplifying service for ambulatory surgery centers
BALTIMORE | Atlantic BioMedical, a veteran-owned medical device service company, has named Ross Brewer president. Brewer took the role a little over a month ago, building on a two-year relationship with the company in which he worked closely with Atlantic BioMedical in a leadership development consulting role.
Brewer will focus on strengthening the operational foundation needed for the company’s next phase of growth while preserving the people, customer relationships and family-oriented culture that have defined Atlantic BioMedical since its founding in 1999.
Before joining Atlantic BioMedical, Brewer held service leadership positions with LINET Americas, Belimed, Becton Dickinson and Hill-Rom/Baxter. Throughout his career, he has led service organizations, product installation programs and acquisition integrations, with a consistent focus on building the operational foundation needed to support sustainable growth.
His experience spans the healthcare service continuum, from service organizations supporting laboratory diagnostics to patient care environments including med-surg, intensive care, surgical services and long-term care. That breadth, combined with a track record of scaling service organizations, has given him a strong understanding of what it takes to deliver reliable service while building the people, processes and infrastructure required for growth.
Brewer said his first priority is listening and learning – developing a deeper understanding of Atlantic BioMedical’s people, customers and operations. From there, he will focus on strengthening the organization, processes and infrastructure needed to scale the company’s existing portfolio of products and services.
“Just as importantly, we want to accomplish that growth without losing what makes Atlantic BioMedical special: its people, its customer relationships, and its family-oriented culture,” Brewer said.
Brewer sees the greatest opportunity in simplifying the service experience for ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), the company’s core customer base.
“Our goal is for Atlantic BioMedical to become the trusted vendor partner our ASC customers can rely on across the many disciplines required to operate their centers safely and effectively,” he said. “Rather than managing multiple vendors, contracts, schedules, contacts, and service relationships, we want to provide a more coordinated approach with greater accountability.”
Atlantic BioMedical built its reputation by giving ASC customers confidence that their equipment is safe for patient use, compliant with regulatory requirements, reliable and ready when needed. Brewer said that commitment will not change. As the company grows, it will evaluate opportunities to expand its capabilities and offer customers a broader range of products and services, while maintaining the trust, responsiveness and personal service central to its success.
“Atlantic BioMedical has built something special – a strong reputation, loyal customers, talented employees, and a culture that feels like a family,” Brewer said. “My role as president is not to change that identity, but to help build the structure and capabilities that will allow the company to grow while preserving the things that made it successful in the first place. Our focus will remain simple: Continue to put patients first, take care of our people, take care of our customers, and build a stronger Atlantic BioMedical for the future.”
