The 60-minute webinar will discuss the issue of competency assessment in the OR setting. Dr. Stobinski will compare and contrast education and training for three professions working in the OR – Central Processing Professionals, Surgical Technologists and Perioperative Nurses. He will also identify one theoretical framework that can be used to examine competency and skill acquisition among healthcare professionals.
Our presenter Jim Stobinski is the Director of Credentialing and Education at The Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI). Dr. Stobinski has over 25 years of experience in the operating room with work roles which have included janitor, orderly, staff nurse and a variety of supervisory positions. He has 18 years of management experience in perioperative nursing and until 2011, he was the Director for Surgical Services at the Boise facility of the St. Luke’s Health System. His education includes a diploma of nursing from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing and a BSN and MSN from East Carolina University.
