The OR Today Webinar Series continued with a presentation by David L. Taylor III, MSN, RN, CNOR. Taylor is the Director of the CVOR at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
The webinar “Engagement: Harnessing Organizational Energy for Transformational Change” attracted 134 attendees. Taylor addressed how hospital administrators and nursing leaders must understand the value of proactively managing day-to-day operations and clinical activities to improve performance. By creating an environment that promotes safety, accountability and collaboration these leaders can mitigate failure and optimize innovation that improves the delivery of safe and effective care.
He also spoke to how the personal guidance of today’s nurse leaders is critical in the success of any change management initiative. In his presentation, attendees heard how to address obstacles that prevent their departments from achieving high performance in clinical and financial outcomes.
